Rainbow Room

Kilmaine's Rainbow Room is a bespoke, sensory den available to all at the school. A multi-purpose space, sometimes this is used as a calming area for those children with heightened emotions.

Often, our Rainbow Room provides neutral ground to explore emotions and feelings. It is also a private, quiet area for any pupils displaying signs of Emotionally Based School Avoidance, where they can be supported to make the transition away from their parent or guardian at drop-off and ease into their daily routine.

Sensory Pathway

Sometimes children learn better after a short movement break.  There is nowhere better to regulate, move and expel some energy than in Kilmaine's Sensory Pathway. 

Supported by our highly trained non-teaching staff, we find that pupils always enjoy the experience and come back to their classrooms more ready to engage.
